The long anticipated
visit from the owners of our house took place this morning, and I
must say that it went very well indeed. The Estate Agents acting for
the owners have been the cause of much annoyance to all and so we
took a joint decision to cut them out of the equation and deal with
each other direct by email in future.
While I do not wish to
go in to details it seems that the agents have been adding to there
fee by manipulating quotes for work done to the house, despicable,
yes,unusual,not at all.
Any one who has read my
earlier blog “Avies Small World will know that I have a vast
experience of estate agents and am familiar with most of their
shenanigans.
This time they tried
their tricks on the wrong person and their services are no longer
required.
I do detest cheats !
We got on with the
owners like a house on fire(what and unfortunate turn of phrase) .
Add to that the glowing reports they have received about us from
their friends in the village and thankfully all is well. I shall pay
them later!!!
It seems that the
state of nervousness about our meeting was mutual, but now we are all
comfortable with the new arrangements.
This afternoon I
ordered a load of logs which will be delivered on Thursday when my
son and I will stack them by the front wall of the house as before.
It is much colder today
and we have kept a good fire in the library which will be left in
overnight to ensure a warm start to tomorrow.
Some Christmas gifts
which I ordered for my son arrived today and I an now beginning my
Christmas preparations in earnest....much later than usual.
Oh well,one doesn't
move house every year so I am excused I trust.
Of one thing I am
certain ,this lovely old house will look wonderful decorated for
Christmas.
