When ever I hear a news
item concerning Scottish Devaluation,Welsh independence of even God
help us Cornish independence I am certain that the politicians
involved in these everlasting debates should be committed at once to
the nearest Mental Hospital.......Whoops,sorry, I forgot for the
moment that these useful institutions were closed by an assortment of
crackpot politicians from a variety of parties over the past twenty
years or so!
At a time when these
same politico's are moving heaven and earth to convince an unwilling
British public to remain in the European Union, it just seems
senseless to split the U. K. into tiny pieces.
We are told that we
cannot survive outside the E.U. Quite apart from the fact that such a
statement is utter rubbish can they not see the anomaly.
Today I learned that
some of our Ministers think that counties such as Yorkshire should be
given home rule! What nonsense!
Incidentally ,when did
the Common Market become the European Union? And why ?
Scotland just voted in
a referendum to decide on their independence, they voted against.
This was wise as had they become independent they would have begun
their new found freedom in a state of bankruptcy!
It is not general known
that 25%of all taxes raised in Greater London are spent on the Scots,
they could not survive without the money they receive from the
English tax payer. Is that fair, who can say? One thing I can tell
you is that speaking as someone who lived in London for almost a
quarter of a century , Londoners don't like it, they don't like it at
all.
I voted against joining
the Common Market many years ago,I could not ,and still cannot see
why we should wish to tie ourselves up with a bunch of nations who
had for the past five or six hundred years been attempting to conquer
our nation.
The Germans hate
us..for obvious reasons, the French detest us because we had to bail
them out twice in less that thirty years. Lets face it folks the
British are not liked by the rest of Europe.
In order to join this
dubious ménage we as good as dumped our trade links with Australia
and New Zealand, this was not good judgement.
We did not need Europe
then and we don't need it now. The whole blasted mess was a half
baked attempt to turn Europe in to something similar to the United
States of America, complete with President and senate. It could never
work, I am not even sure that it works in The States.
Some States such as
California, after living beyond their means for decades now expect to
be bailed out by States such as Texas who have managed their affairs
with more prudence. Just as we in Britain have,at to the detriment of
our own Farming and Fishing industry been bailing out inefficient
French Farmers for years. It's ludicrous!
It is less than a month
since the Scots voted no to Devolution and yet already all the talk
is of another referendum, what the hell for?
Five years ago our
present Government promised a referendum of Europe if we put them in
to office, they lied,we are still waiting. This means that we are
tied in to a union with countries who's finances are in melt down.
Greece Portugal, Spain, Italy and many others are bankrupt, and our
leaders would like to strengthen this strangle hold,it's crazy.
If you were ship
wrecked and had made it to a lifeboat would you then tie your boat to
the prow of the sinking ship....of course not..... well this is the
same thing exactly. We are being tied ever more tightly to the
sinking ship of Europe, and what is more they expect us to like it!
We need a referendum on
Europe and we need it now.
The problem is ,I
suspect that Like the Scottish people if we do not vote in the way
our Parliament wishes they will keep on holding referendums until we
give them the answer they want.
It would suit our
Conservative Government and the anti socialist New Labour Party to
loose the poorer parts of England, the North East and the Midlands
which in places resemble Detroit. The people are leaving in droves
because there is no work for them,it's obvious what is really going
on.
We should leave Europe
while we still can,we fought two wars against European domination
and we should not now give them for the asking what they could not
take by force of arms.
I sympathise with
Scotland’s wish to retain it's identity, as I do Wales and
Cornwall. I just ask that while giving them their freedom we do not,
by default loose our own.
